1783B– Portfolio Analyst

Role Objectives

We have an exciting opportunity for Portfolio Analyst to join our team at beginning of May 2017. The role is fulltime for 12 months and working in our office and on client site in downtown Calgary. As the Portfolio Analyst, you are responsible for managing a full year of financial execution and steward reporting to the leadership team. You are responsible for ensuring that programs/projects are delivered utilizing financial analysis/reconciliation and project management/governance techniques. 

Responsibilities

  • Require the ability to analyze and provide feedback on full year portfolio plan, with regard to financial commitments and in-flight versus planned project
  • Manage full year financial execution and steward project reporting to management
  • Construct scenarios for financial portfolio transfers between active programs in the portfolio, as required due to project change requests that occur throughout the year
  • Actively manage the portfolio to a +0/-5% variance at Year End
  • Complete Monthly Management Report (MMR) view to project performance, in collaboration with Project Delivery Manager and Team Leads
  • Reporting and dashboard development
  • Weekly status reporting and health of projects

Qualifications

  • Strong financial acumen  
  • Gap analysis and define functionalities
  • Knowledge of accrual process
  • Flexible and have capability to build or change reporting functionality as required
  • Experience with SAP and financial tools
  • Vendor and supply chain experience
  • Collaboration with team members
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
