Tricon Solutions / Ignite Summits Communications + Social Media Specialist

Role Objectives

The Communications + Social Media Specialist provides writing, social media and project coordination support to ensure the effective execution of Tricon events, marketing and communications plans.

You are a disciplined and creative writer and editor who is responsible for finished copy for all assigned projects. You will help to determine tone, style, structure and voice of content for our various communications channels. You are familiar with event ticket sales, and generating ticket sales through marketing.

You understand social media as a marketing and branding tool and can create digital strategies involving different platforms effectively. You are familiar with social media management tools. You are able write posts for different platforms, as well as blogging and inbound content. You are experienced in marketing and sponsorship for corporate events.

You understand PR and earned media, are able to write news releases and invitations to media, support the planning and coordination of conferences and events.


What you’ll do:

  • Advise on marketing strategies for Tricon and Ignite
  • Write and edit Tricon marketing collateral
  • Help to determine tone, style, structure and voice of content for our various communications channels
  • Market for ticket sales of Ignite
  • Develop and update and prepare sponsorship packages for Ignite sponsorship
  • Develop and update and prepare business development sales material for Tricon
  • Develop, execute and optimize high-performing marketing strategies, with a focus on top and middle marketing funnel activity (brand awareness, demand generation, engagement)
  • Champion the planning, implementation and optimization of all content marketing efforts
  • Adopt innovative approaches to generating demand and engagement on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Actively participate in online conversations and communities with the goal of growing our social followings, increasing engagement and strengthening brand reputation
  • Monitor brand sentiment and manage reputation on both owned/unowned channels, surfacing insights, flagging risks and identifying opportunities for growth/improvement
  • Contribute to planning and implementation of influencer marketing efforts and campaigns (working closely with Tricon Teams)
  • Coordinate and participate in the creation of content for owned social channels
  • Analyze, measure and report on all social media activity, content marketing efforts and social advertising campaigns
  • Translate analytics into digestible insights for continuous brand and content marketing improvement
  • Create, develop and edit content for blogs, with an eye to SEO, SEM and paid social best-practices and impacts


Who you are:

Degree in Communications / Marketing or related

  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of writing for all applications
  • Excellent writing skills are a must have. Calling all sticklers for spelling and grammar!
  • Understanding software and best practices for Google ADwords, social media platforms, WordPress, Mailchimp or other distribution software
  • Experience with events and event ticket sales
  • Great time management abilities, detail-oriented
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • The ability to work on multiple projects
  • Understanding of the design process
  • Self motivated and willing to expand knowledge
  • A self-starter with the ability to produce high quality work in an ever-changing business.
  • Ability to self-manage while assisting assigned teams and projects
  • Creative problem solving skills
